2001 Philadelphia Eagles season : ウィキペディア英語版 | 2001 Philadelphia Eagles season
The 2001 Philadelphia Eagles season saw the team make the postseason for the second consecutive time under Andy Reid. After defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Chicago Bears in the first two rounds, the Eagles advanced to the NFC Championship for the first time in 22 years, but lost 29-24 to the St. Louis Rams. The Rams progressed to the Super Bowl, but were unable to stop the New England Patriots, 20-17. After losing the next two Conference Championship games to the Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers, respectively, the Eagles acquired controversial star wide receiver Terrell Owens in 2004. With Owens, the Eagles finally made it out of the Conference Championship to advance to the Super Bowl, but came close to winning the title, losing to the Patriots, who won their third Super Bowl. After the departure of Owens in 2005 and several other members of the 2001 roster, including defensive starters Hugh Douglas and Brian Dawkins, the Eagles did not make it back to the Conference Championship until 2008, with Donovan McNabb and coach Reid still remaining. In that game, the Eagles lost to the Kurt Warner-led Arizona Cardinals. ==Offseason==
